Halloween

So Rob Zombie is having this new movie called Halloween.

  Its a remake of the first Halloween http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween_%281978_film%29

The first couple of Halloweens I personally liked.  I’m hoping that the newer one isn’t worse than the old ones.
I doubt it will though, sense we have new technology to help everything.

My friend at the beginning of the school year saw it with me (halloween 1987), and he became afraid of him.  But then he finally saw another scary movie, that Michael Meyers fright was gone.
But that night he couldn’t sleep, it was sad.  Yet very amusing to see him:  Stare at the windows, look around quickly, stare into darkness in the hallway.

I was only 11 years old when the original movie came out and as such I didn’t see it until several years later after a sequel or two had come out. Even then it left me uneasy. In my youth I wasn’t much for horror movies. I don’t think I started to be able to watch them regularly until the Nightmare on Elm Street movie in 1984. Of course I was 17 when that came out.

When you’re younger it’s easier to believe your fears might be reality no matter how ridiculous they might be. As you get older and more experienced I think it becomes easier to separate fantasy from reality, but there are even some adults that can’t handle horror movies without having nightmares.

Well boyo, I totally sympathize with your friend.  I’ve never been into these types of movies, myself.  However, I hope you enjoy this new installment of the series and that you find yourself thoroughly entertained:-)

Great topic, I’m looking forward to this one myself.
It seems {from what i heard and understand of Rob’s take on things} to deviate from your typical supernatural slasher {good news IMO!} and more focus on the disturbed mentality of Michael. I applaud this as the “undead/unkillable/monster” slasher has been done to death and back. I think your friend may rediscover his fear.{not really but its good to remember that terror has many forms, even adults are frightened of things from time to time!} HOATC and Devils Rejects were great films based on the old horror genre and Zombie is one of the true masters left in this age when “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “ Final Destination” have become the typical “horror” film { not rven going to mention Saw…blech}
Anyhow, noticed your site from Les’s blog and wanted to stop by and say Hi.
I follow SEB a little, and although im not much on responses i am glad to see him at it, its a great read and brings a smile to your face every now and again. Keep at it and dont take a lack of response as lack of readers..just means we might not feel we have anything of value to add.{ or that we feel will ramble on like so, and not want to bother ya!} Peace.
